It is totally evocative of the beautiful sunsets we experience regularly on our Meditterean beach at Herziliya, a few miles north of Tel Aviv.
Taking a sunset walk along the shore or drinking a beer while watching the setting sun is one of life's little extras. No need to take a cruise to the Carribbean or Greece, Italy and Spain. Here, ten minutes from our home, we are able to join a multi-cultural crowd of Israelis strolling, playing or picknicking on our own piece of Meditterean paradise.
Israeli beauties in their bikinis and middle-age men with beer bellies contrast with religious Jews and Arabs covered almost from head to toe. All are simply enjoying themselves.
A few metres away from where we sit are the Crusader ruins of Apollonia. Often we speculate on what they felt watching the everchanging yet timeless work of art as the sun slips below the horizon.

Very insightful and very telling.
Man, oh man, do we need some work.

I like your take. It fits perfectly with the new title and sub-head.
